It was great to visit Home-start Leeds recently, with Cllr Helen Hayden. Home-Start Leeds is a family support charity that has been in Leeds since 1987. They support families who have one child under 7 or are expecting a baby.
We heard about the services they provide and the families they support. We discussed the high demand in people accessing their services and the implications both in terms of finances and capacity to deliver the necessary support, at a time when funding is less available and harder to secure, due to demand.
