Parliament may be shut down for its summer recess but local MP Alex Sobel will not be taking the traditional long holiday.
The MP for Leeds North West is determined that there will be no reduction in service during the month of August and is continuing with his regular constituency surgeries, both by appointment and at the local supermarket drop ins. As well as this, he will be getting out and about in the constituency, meeting with residents and local businesses alike.
Mr Sobel will also be holding five coffee morning events across the constituency where residents of Leeds North west can have an informal chat with their local MP over a hot drink and a slice of cake.
Mr Sobel said “The election last year came just before the summer recess so much of that time was spent establishing an office and a constituency team as well as putting together a surgery timetable and planning ahead. This year, I will be able to dedicate recess to meeting as many constituents as possible and visiting the local businesses and charity organisations that make our area tick.”
“It is important that residents know that constituency surgeries are still available over summer as it is not something that MPs usually do. I hope many will join in the coffee morning events too.”
There will be private surgery appointments available in Otley on the 7th of August and in Yeadon on the 21st of August. The next supermarket drop ins will be on the 15th August at Otley Sainsbury’s at 11am and in Yeadon Morrisons at 12.30.
More private surgeries are available in Adel on the 3rd August and Headingley on the 17th August. Mr Sobel will be running supermarket surgeries in Asda Holt Park and Headingley Sainsbury's on the 7th July.
He is also continuing with his popular 'Ask Alex' live facebook videos where constituents can ask him questions from the comfort of their own home.
