The winner of the award will be announced in mid-September at the conclusion of the Fields in Trust ‘Summer of Parks’ and below is linked the website where you can vote for the Hollies to win. Voting closes on Monday 19th August 2019,
Responding to this news, Alex Sobel MP said:
“I’m excited to hear that the Hollies Park in my constituency has been nominated for the Best Park 2019 award by Fields in Trust UK.
It is great to hear that our local parks are getting the recognition they deserve as they are all wonderful spaces to have near us. I enjoy regularly visiting the parks and green spaces in my constituency as they are wonderful places to relax and get closer to nature.
Parks are also known to have a great mental and physical health impacts on local areas with the NHS saving £111 million per year on fewer GP visits
Parks are also a vital part of any community as they improve our quality of life. As the MP for Leeds North West, I have been very passionate about conserving local parks and green spaces with litter picking activities and community events to keep them thriving.
I urge those living in my constituency to vote for the Hollies as the Fields in Trust UK Best Park of 2019.”
