Last month, in my capacity as Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Ukraine, I made my 3rd trip to Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion, taking much need aid.
Included in this trips supplies was £1000 worth of sheets of wood, kindly donated by Wickes. These sheets serve a critical purpose in homes in the Kharkiv region, offering protection against the shattering glass propelled by Russian missile and drone attacks, thus mitigating further harm.
I also met up with Kharkiv MP Mariia Mezentseva, and pledged to help her collect 6,000 tablets to enable displaced school children to continue their education.
I also spoke at the prestigious YES (Yalta European Strategy) Conference in Kyiv alongside US Congressman Don Davis and led a delegation of 12 UK MPs to the Ukrainian Parliament where he chaired a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament and 25 Ukrainian MPs which covered a full spectrum of topics around UK-Ukraine co-operation.
